This is to my dad, but I am honoring all the other fathers here also
Dad, Thank you for being tough on me. Yes, I am a girl but you wanted me to understand “boy things”. Thank you for teaching me how to change a tire _ I am now not afraid if I am stuck on the side of the road. Thank you for teaching me to fight and stand up for myself_ I was a scrapper like you, tough as nails. Thank you for servicing our Country for 36 years_ I salute you and I am honored to have had you as my Dad. Dad, thank you for teaching me hard work is the only way to go_ I work hard everyday and never forget your wise words. Thank you for teaching me that you get more flies with honey_ for years I thought you meant it literally and never understood why you liked flies Daddy, you said “never let the sun set on an argument”_ this one confused me also, but I get it now and I know it had helped my 28 year marriage. Daddy I’m sorry you had to take me for my first bra_ but your intelligent words helped so much “Way to go kid”…… Daddy I know you helped many boys out the front door_ that was sweet of you to walk them to the door, but I’m sure they could have walked on their own. The biggest thing I want to thank you for is your smile and laughter. Thank you for helping me see my life is imperfectly perfect…When I finally gave birth to your third granddaughter you looked down at her and said “It’s o.k if I am dying, I now am ready because I know what heaven looks like. I can’t imagine having any other father. I did not have you long as I wish I did, but I was so lucky to have you for the time I did. Happy Father’s Day Daddy I love you… Your little Peanut, Anita
Happy Father’s Day to all those Fathers out there. Your work is valuable.
